Im Jahr 2131 liegt die Welt in Trümmern. Die junge Kriegerin Deunan
streift noch immer durch die Ruinen, als sie plötzlich entführt und in die
Metropole Olympus verschleppt wird. Sie erwacht inmitten einer futuristischen
Gesellschaft, in der Menschen und sogenannte „Bioroids“, genetisch veränderte
Klone, scheinbar harmonisch und friedlich zusammenleben. Hier begegnet sie
bald ihrem früheren Freund Briareos, dessen Körper mittlerweile durch Roboterteile
ersetzt wurde. Kann sie ihm noch Vertrauen? Die politischen Spannungen
in Olympus schwellen an, und auf der Suche nach dem gefährlichen
Geheimnis dieses Utopias kommt Deunan nur langsam dahinter, wie sehr das
Schicksal der Menschheit doch mit ihrem eigenen verknüpft ist.

to power and clash with the government's ES.W.A.T. forces led by the legendary
soldier, Deunan Knute, and her boyfriend who is 75% machine.
Retrieving the Appleseed will end the conflict, and Deunan alone holds its secret.
This intense animated feature, based on the graphic novels created by Shirow
Masumune (GHOST IN THE SHELL), features direction by Shinji Aramaki (BUBBLEGUM
CRISES) and a powerful soundtrack from today's top international
music artists, including the Boom Boom Satellites, Paul Okenfold, Basement
Jaxx and the world-renowned Ryuichi Sakamoto.
