Welcome to the Asia Filmfest 2009
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Munich's
sixth Asia Filmfest.
For a duration of eleven days, from October 29 to
November 8, you may immerse yourself in the
breathtaking world of Asian cinema and experience
its many exciting facets at the Mathäser Filmpalast
and Gloria Palast. In cooperation with the Kinopolis
group, the largest Asian film festival in Germany
presents more than 50 new films from China, Hong
Kong, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan, many
of which as German, European or World premieres.
In addition, collaborating with the UCI Kinowelt
group, the Asia Filmfest is proud to present a
selection of ten films from the regular program,
shown from November 13 to 15 in Berlin (Zoo Palast).
The Asia Filmfest not only offers you the
opportunity to experience the current trends of
creative filmmaking in Asia. Our exciting social and
cultural program, including documentaries, matinees,
lectures, attractions, and special guests, provides
for additional entertainment. The Festival Lounge in
Munich's Gloria Palast offers culinary delights as
well as souvenir booths. Of course, the
international film festival also kicks off with a
grand opening party which should by no means be
